Barry is an active member of the Canadian Association of Exposition Management (CAEM), the Centre for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR), the Trade Show Exhibitors Association (TSEA) and International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE)

As well, Barry is certificated at the practitioners level from the Neuro-linguistic Institute.

In 2006 Barry was the recipient of Canadian Exposition Industry Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of 20 years of outstanding achievements in furthering the professionalism of the Canadian Exposition industry.
